Chamonix ski resort is a prestigious alpine town with the awe inspiring Monte Bianco as well as majestic glaciers. All of us love to go walking or sometimes eating out. I sometimes fly from Austin and stay at a Chamonix hotel for the duration of my stay.
My friends and I used to stayed in PARK PLAZA VICTORIA AMSTERDAM however it rarely met the standards of its description: Victoria Hotel Amsterdam is located opposite to Amsterdam’s central train station. Hotel amenities include the indoor swimming pool, Turkish steam bath, sauna, and gym. The Seasons Garden Restaurant serves French and international cuisine, and Vic’s Terrace and Brasserie has light meals for lunch and dinner. The Tasman Bar serves coffee and cocktails. The hotel also offers the beauty parlor, 24-hour reception/cashier, laundry facilities, wireless lan and room service from 0630hrs – 2300hrs .
In comparison in Chamonix village the catered chalet is nearly always outstanding. Likewise dining out in my preferred bar, Food Lion, eating pizza pasta salad is a real treat. Chamonix Mont Blanc France is a large enough village to guarantee that there is lots of things for the visitor to do. Including a sports and swimming complex and a weekly market with fresh local produce, Chamonix offers a mix of skiing, French alpine charm and tourist attractions which barely any French ski resorts can match.

Its said that HD radio has become a hot ticket item in the technology field but there is something coming soon that should take things up up a notch ” HD DVDS ” yes you will seeon be able to watch high definition movies on dvd from the comfort of your home.
So what are High Definition DVDs? well there two HD dvd formats that are being worked on as we speak one is called HD DVD and the other is called Blu-ray both of them support High defination films.
Something that is really incredible about these dvds is that the HD DVD will be a single layer capacity disk that will allow up to 15GB and then their will be a dual layer one that is 30GB. You might think that is pretty impressive but that isn’t anything. Toshiba is in the process of developing a triple layer disk that will allow 45GB of data and then their will be a 100GB one that is four layer.. very impressive.
Basically high definition movies require more space and thats why companies are developing these high capacity disks to allow this to be possible.
What are the benefits of this?
Well this means DVD movies will have even more on them such as Directors comments, interactive features, out-takes and even a 2nd version of the dvd which will be in High Definition, I believe to fully benefit from this you would need a good tv and dvd player.
November 2004 was the start of talks saying that HD DVD would take over from regular dvds. Mind you blu-ray movies will require a Blu-ray player You should see both the HD DVD and Blu-Ray provide plent of space for high-definition movies this coming year.

Internet games use the cyber world technology for playing. Games are extremely popular and constantly evolving.
There are:
* Games played using e-mail.
* Games played on a browser window by using a web address.
* Games played using Internet Relay Chat, Telenet, MUD client, or a Web based forum.
* Games that are graphic need stand-alone software that permits players to play with or against one another using an Internet connection.
The first game, MUD, was developed in 1978, and the market has burgeoned since then.
To play, one needs:
* A reliable Internet connection.
* A personal computer or game console.
* Selected software required by specific games.
One can play simple board games like scrabble, or bingo, or games like poker, mahjong, and pool. Another popular category is simulation games–these imitate real-life situations and cover aspects like combat, city planning, strategies, as well as flight simulation.
For serious gaming the computer performance must be optimized. This can be done by:
* Running the disk defragmenter and organizing the computer files. This should ideally be done once a month at least.
* Correct folder and file errors by using scandisk—use once a week and the computer will give trouble free performance.
* Clean your hard drives–get rid of Internet files, temporary files, as well as files in the trash/recycle bin. Clear the cache and uninstall programs that are not in everyday use.
* Update the operating system software. Download any new security patches. Keep video drivers updated.
* Clear space on the hard drive—store files on a back up system.
* Clear any spyware you have inherited from websites.
* Minimize number of programs running–when playing a graphic intensive game if there are too many programs running simultaneously the graphics will become choppy and game will be slow.
* Delete add on game files–wall papers and other paraphernalia will just clutter the computer.
* Run an anti-virus program regularly but disable it when you are loading/playing games. Antivirus programs slow down games.
* Always shut down the computer properly.
The Internet allows gamers to compete with people across oceans, on the other side of the world and anywhere in the universe. Some use PCs while others use consoles. What you use is a personal choice and depends on issues like costs and so on.
Before you buy a game you must:
* Consider “system requirements” – some games can run on systems that are not exact others need specific hardware.
* Find out if the game is single player or multi-player. Many games need the Internet–and, the broadband connection is more efficient than the dial-up connection. Many like Xbox Live only work on a broadband connection.
* Find out if the game can be played using a mouse/keyboard or whether it will need a full-featured joy stick.
Be wise and try a demo before making an actual purchase. Playing a demo benefits the player as well as game developer. Many online games offer free trial periods —beta testing is a great opportunity to find out if the game suits your taste as well as pockets.
Do your research thoroughly–usually there are several games competing for players within a genre. Read game reviews before taking the final step.

Nature has millions of intervowen interrelationships among the numerous flora and fauna. Such relationships are the basis for the food webs and food pyramids. These food webs and pyramids can give us a broad idea that organisms interact with each other for their food, shelter and mating. Each specific interrelationship if studied in depth can be very interesting and brings to light significant facts of our sorroundings and the importance of each and every living being on this earth and its function in sustaining the ecological processes. In fact if the entire nature is considered one machine, each and every living being has its own role in smooth running of this machine. But knowingly and unknowingly, we have not taken care or forced to destroy such interrelationships in the path of ‘development’.
While we talk of big things like “Global warming,” “Green House Gases” and such other impending disasters, we are doing little precious either in understanding these interrelationships or our scientific community has not been able to keep pace with the enormity and complexity of ecological relationships.
Even if the world is protected from global warming, can the man and his domesticated crops and animals survive with out the aid of other living beings on this earth? Can the nature sustain such loss of vast number of living beings and even then sustain human living on this earth? Of course not! This is known to every one…everyone in the sense the ecologists and environmentalists on board of scientific institutions and administration and the thinktank behind governments. We cannot expect the politicians to understand such complex science, and neither do they have time to spare an ear. Therefore it is the responsibility of the scientific community to take up such issues and suggest possible remedial actions and incessantly pursue for implementation. They are also duty bound to prevent vested interests who try to hijack the issue for their own selfish ends or satisfy their proffessional egos.
Just as politicians, a lay man (representing the vast majority of the general public) is not expected to know, appreciate or support such causes. Hence once again its is the duty of scientific community, to mobilise public opinion and break all the barriers in implementing conservation measures in every part of the world both in micro and macro scales. Conservation has to be localised instead of conserving things of one continent in the other continent or one country’s in the other.
The awareness levels about ecology or nature conservation are at a such a dangerous low, that many people term even zoological parks as as conservation centers! And we know how these parks are maintained in many developing and poor countries!
Lastly conservation programmes should not be seen as programs of wasteful expenditure, but should be seen as a life insurance premium for our own survival!

It can be very frustrating when you want to find out just how well your ISP really performs….or prospective ISP if you’re shopping around. You really don’t want to take their word for it (the usual marketing drivel). But how do you become the educated consumer…. so you can operate from a position of knowledge (sic strength) rather than ignorance (sic weakness)?
Well … to start you can look over the speed test review table at BroadbandReports.com. The table lists over 100 ISPs with number of tests that week, domain (DNS look-up), type, down kpbs, upload kpbs, other details….and rates them in order of performance (based on average over last 7 days). The table is updated daily so check back as often as you need to.
Interested in testing the packet loss of your line, comparing your ping time with other users, modifying your TCP stack, checking for bad routers, scanning for open ports and windows exploit points, testing if your computer is setup correctly for broadband TCP connectivity, tracking your connectivity with weekly reports, and much more? You’ll find more tools to help you do all that at BroadbandReports.com. They’re a great resource and I strongly suggest you take advantage of everything they make available to the public….for no charge.

Check up to see if the merchant bank who is willing to give you a bank loan is . 13.7 percent loan rate may come out so upright but will that be unvarying after you have to retort your money loan. Be brilliant today to if you have a super bargain or if you don’t with the moneylender that offers you a credit loan.
Now you can check rates of interest quickly online and determine if there are other sneaky conditions you should be aware of. now you really need to check out and visit if you can have a loan at a fine percent rate of interest. A bank in Greenville South Carolina or so may have a total completely different actual interest rate for a 17500 dollar bank loan then a moneylender in Mobile Alabama and that makes a large clear gap in your monthly costs. It makes no difference if you live in Hampton Virginia or in Minneapolis Minnesota a upright online investigation will unbosom you often a lot trouble. A lot of the moneylenders wil show you a rate that looks mediocre but doesn’t feel good or so after some time.

The death of a marriage must be mourned like any other lost relationship. It is often experienced as a death of family, of commitment, hope, or a dream. Dreams die-hard as there is nothing tangible about them and no place to put the “body.” When one is a widow or a widower the entire world knows you have experienced a death and there are rituals to help you go through the grieving process. When you get divorced, few who haven’t been there realize the suffering you go through and support is often brief or completely lacking. This is a time to reach out for help. Perhaps you should seek a divorce group, professional help, or spend time with really good friends?
SEX WITH YOUR EX
You’ve gotten a divorce and you are sure you never want to see your ex spouse again. Sex was never the real problem anyway, and certainly not the fundamental reason for the divorce. Then one night you get together and have dinner to talk about the kids. You’re feeling lonely and your mind goes blank unable to remember the many bad times you had together. Now what was so awful about your ex anyway? Why did you get divorced? The next thing you know one thing leads to another and you’ve gone to bed together. Maybe this even happens more than once. You begin to wonder if there is anything wrong with this pull back to the old and familiar. After all you have nothing else in the works right now anyway.
Going to bed with your ex is a lot more common than most people realize. A lot of divorcing partners have sex with their ex or soon to be ex at least once, usually, within a four to six month period after leaving when emotions are running up and down like a jumbo roller coaster ride. But, the emotions involved with this kind of sexual encounter are quite different from those of a constant relationship belonging to a loving married couple.
Some individuals go to bed with their ex viewing the experience as “one last goodbye,” others as a way to convince themselves that what they thought always worked in their relationship really isn’t the same anymore. And, still others see it as a safety net, satisfying their sexual need without having to maintain the total relationship.
Many of those divorced are saddened by the loss of their marriage and angry about all that has happened. Yet, they still have warm memories about the past and regrets about what might have been. The loneliness and depression you may feel following a divorce can wreak havoc on your mental state causing mixed emotions and an inability to make good choices.
Although sex with your ex may provide a temporary release, you must let go sexually as in other emotional ways in order to heal and grow. This won’t happen until you agree to stay out of each other’s beds. The old adage “it ain’t over until it’s over” truly applies.
In addition, a continued sexual connection with your ex can be very confusing for your children. Seeing their parents continue an intimate relationship can be very detrimental to their adjustment to the divorce. Children need stability and seeing this kind of relationship confuses them. It creates a ragged boundary and it may fuel their fantasy that their parents will reconcile.
If you do find you want to get back together, your bed is probably not the best place to work out your issues. If you are seriously considering trying again, reach out and get professional help to work out the problems that caused you to divorce in the first place.
If you are truly finished, stay alone in your own bed. You want to get it right the next time round. You don’t want to kiss the frog again. This time you really want a prince or princess.

Here in Mauritius, mosquitoes are in paradise. The male mosquitoes have all the fruits they’ll ever dream of – god knows whether they actually dream – all year long while the female mosquitoes can choose from a numerous number of tourists to feed on.
It is of no surprise that tourists get bitten more than we, locals do. And the reaction which occurs on the tourists’ skin is quiet unusual to me. A large red swelling develops. It is about twice the size that the one which would have formed on my skin if I was to get bitten. Apparently the bite that a tourist receives is also more irritant. In my opinion, this is because foreigners are not as used to get mosquito bites than Mauritians do. But one thing is for sire though: some people do get bitten more than others.
Why is this so? Or rather, why are some people bitten less? James Logan, a research student at the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) has found that some people give off ‘masking’ odours that prevent mosquitoes from detecting them. Another study, done earlier by Professor John Pickett and his team, showed that the number of flies circulating around a herd depended on certain cows being present. Professor Pickett and his team discovered that unattractive – to mosquitoes at least – individuals gave out different chemical signals from other cows. To be sure about this fact, the unattractive cows were removed and the number of flies bothering the herd did indeed increase. These ‘ordinary’ cows had not been camouflaged by the unattractive cows’ special ‘masking’ odour and therefore the flies were attracted to the ‘ordinary’ cows.
After some other experiments, it was concluded that the famous ‘masking’ odours were acting as repellents or as a cover up. This finding could lead to a new type of insect repellent. These would be both safer and more effective.
Next time you get bitten, just think that the mosquitoes are not attracted by your ’sweet’ blood but by your own odour.
