Wedding Apparel for 2009

Filed under: Trappings — admin @ 10:08 pm

Pashminas are really convenient for many kinds of occasions as they are painless to fold up and put away in your shoulder bag if you get too warm. The pashmina wool keeps out the cold very effectively, so instead of wearing a heavy coat on a breezy spring or summer evening, a shawl will suffice as a useful overgarment.

Pashmina shawls have recently become rather fashionable as a fashion accessory/apparel for bridesmaids. The last few summers in the UK have been pretty cold, so perhaps this has advanced this new trend. White pashminas, as well as cream and gold are trendy choices for marriage ceremonies, and look wonderful if all the maids of honor have a matching colour pashmina shawl.

If you order a larger size shawl, it can also transform into a convenient blanket for lengthy journeys. And it goes without saying, it can transform into a scarf for winter days.

There tends to be two main types of pashmina – the the 70% pashmina / 30% silk pashmina, and the 100% pashmina shawl variety. The non-pure pashmina you can buy at lower cost than the pure counterpart, but it’s less warm. It’s really down to you as to what you want to use your pashmina shawl for. Is it strictly a fashion accessory, or also apparel to keep out the cold too? I strongly recommend pure pashminas to keep out the cold.
