Weak Hands

It’d be great if we all got pocket Aces or high suited connectors every hand (actually, it’d be great if I got those every hand), but the sad fact is that we’re all more likely to draw a King-2 or a 7-5 unsuited. Fortunately for us, one of the things that make poker online games a great pastime is that we don’t need the best cards to win a given hand. So even though you may not get your first choice of hole cards, don’t throw away your hand in disgust, because you’ve still got a chance of taking the pot. When you get cards that you don’t like, take the time to explore your options. Here are some things to consider:

Are you a blind at your poker online table? If you’re the blind take advantage of your late position (in the first betting round) to see if you can buy up the pot or at least see a cheap flop.

What position are you in? If you’re in an early position, you might want to duck out of the hand, but if you’re in the late position, pay attention for opportunities to buy the pot before the flop.

How’s the poker online table feel? If you’ve got a table full of passive opponents or you’re reading a round of weak hands, you might be able to buy up the pot without seeing a single community card.
