Last Chance, Part Nine of 10

Filed under: Casino Stuff, Fun For All, Gaming Hall — admin @ 10:46 am

I’d like to say that I lasted at the poker longer than a couple of minutes. I’d like to say I played all night, in made the best plays and kept rising that I didn’t leave that seat all weekend. But the truth is that the first hand, I got dealt kings. Right there in the hole, on the first hand that I lifted, two red men looking up at me inside.

I was still green to the game and all, but you’d have to be beyond a donkey and just plain idiotic to not know what kings are.

It came to me and I raised. I got reraised. I raised again. We went all in. It was like lightning, like going swimming. There wasn’t much of any choice. I thought for a minute he might have aces, the kind of all hands, but I wasn’t going anywhere like that, and surely not with the several drinks under my belly. Still, even with that, I felt okay being this aggressive playing poker for the first time in a while.

The guy turns over QQ. I show him my pair. Our chips make a large pile in the middle.

The flop is a bunch of little numbers. The turn is something else: a ten or nine, I can’t by now remember. On the river comes a queen. One big red monster to kill my monsters.

Almost before it started, as if I were competing for the world’s record of quick money loss. I don’t even remember anything after that, just the explosion and then blank, K.O., kaput. Should’ve practiced playing poker online.

It is not a secret among my group of friends that I like to play online poker. We all sit around and talk about poker, we play casual games, and we are all members of the same poker online casinos. Small Blind, Big Odds

Filed under: Casino Stuff, Fun For All, Gaming Hall — admin @ 12:09 am

Being the small blind is an interesting position. On one hand, you are going to be the first to act, so you’ll be playing at a pretty big disadvantage after the flop. Considering this, you would normally want to play as tightly as possible and play only the best hands from that position. On the other hand, you’ve already committed half of the blinds to the hand, and if you fold, you’ll have given up some chips without seeing if your cards have hit the flop.

Deciding whether or not to just give away your half blind isn’t an easy one. Luckily, poker has a way of nudging you in one direction or another. Since you are already partially committed to the pot, you can face better odds when you take a risk in the small blind position. If four other online poker players have called the big blind and the action comes to you, you can loosen up your play a bit. Between the four bets, the big blind, and your half blind, you stand to win 11 half bets with one half bet. With 11-to-1 odds, you can loosen up your play to small pocket pairs and connectors. If you’re the small blind and several online poker opponents call, it may be worth trying to hit the flop.

Bubble Sharks

Filed under: Casino Stuff, Fun For All, Gaming Hall — admin @ 9:49 am

As the dreaded money bubble approaches in Texas Hold ‘Em poker online tournaments, most players tend to tighten up their play in hopes of surviving into the money. These people hardly play any hands other than the most premium cards and just fold their way into the money.

However, the bubble turns some poker online players into sharks ready to prey on the fearful who flee any action. The money bubble typically offers myriad opportunities to steal blinds and pots because fear rules the survivor mode players.

Usually there are two types of players who adapt the shark mentality and play aggressively as the bubble approaches. First, there are the short stack players who may not survive more than a few rounds of blinds. These players have to make a move or they will simply be blinded out of the tournament. When they get any decent starting hand, they have to shove and hope for the best. Perhaps they will win only the blinds, but as least they have covered their chip loss for one round.

Then there are the big stacks who know they can push around the survival mode players. It’s not likely their aggressive betting will cost them enough chips to end their tournament life before the bubble. They can exploit the tight players.

You don’t have to necessarily be a big stack though to pursue aggressive poker play, especially if you have mostly survivor types at the table. Even with a mediocre stack, you can be selectively aggressive if the table is tight. In that case, play contrary to the table and be aggressive, especially when there are no big stacks betting behind you.

Playing the Spanish Elgordo Lottery Successfully

Filed under: Fun For All — admin @ 1:06 am

A major event within the Euromillions Euro lottery is the Loteria de Elgordo – and you would do well to know more about this part. With payouts that can be as high as more than two and a half billion Euros, the lottery offers one of the world’s richest jackpots. This is not the lottery’s only claim to fame. With more than thirteen thousand prizes being offered your chances of winning a prize mean that there’s one winner in every six tickets. These are really astonishing odds when compared with the majority of other branded lotteries.

Should you want to enter you can buy a full ticket called a “serie”. You can also choose a more affordable option called a “d©cimo”, valued at one tenth of a full ticket. Neither alternative is especially cheap, though, and of course neither has better odds of being a winner. This is the reason that the e-lottery system is popular with many Euromillions Euro lottery players.

With the Euromillions Euro lotto, there is one draw per month. Three months each year see special lotteries promising significantly more substantive prizes. The 3 bigger lotteries are scheduled to take place in January, summer, and at Christmas: these are, respectively, El Nio, San Ildefonso & El Gordo.

Balls with numbers in a range between 00,000 and 84,999 are not part of a standard lottery system, but this draw employs a unique system taking full advantage of them. One ball will be drawn from each of two bowls; the first bowl indicates the winner, the second what the ticket is worth.

This system guarantees a prize for everyone who takes part. You will automatically be assigned a team when you buy in to the El Gordo Lottery syndicate. Each team is assigned a number from zero to nine when the draw is made, the final digit of the winning number determines which team receives the money. The money is then divided among the team members. Following that, subscriptions are offered for the syndicate ready for the next drawing.

Khoom Fay are established Thai lanterns, with a bamboo frame extended by thin tissue paper. A flaming cell connected to the lantern offers hot airThe graciously rise, and produce a great spectacle, particularly when discharged at constant time intervals to form a chain of sparks rising into the sky. Night or day they genuinely make an affect. Ensure the lantern is fully extended, and not creased or falling sideways. This is greatest complete by taking the top of the lantern, raising it a few feet lightly, then crisply dropping it. Side Pot Calculations

Filed under: Casino Stuff, Fun For All, Gaming Hall — admin @ 12:17 pm

Poker online players typically have different size stacks, so that a large bet from a big stack surpasses the entire chip stack of another player. But just because a player does not have enough chips to match a bet, that player with the smaller stack can still enter the pot.

In this situation, the dealer creates a “side pot” in addition to the main pot. The main pot holds all the chips the small stack put in plus equal amounts of chips from the larger stacks who called the big bet. The side pot contains the chips from each player that exceeded the amount bet by the short stack who could not match the bet.

The short stack is only eligible to win the main pot and cannot claim any chips from the side pot. Those players still remaining continue to bet into the side pot. The all-in short stack can no longer bet.

Side pots can seem confusing to new online poker players, but dealers are accustomed to this situation and can usually calculate the side and main pots quickly. They simply subtract the amount of the all-in bet amount from the bigger bets and put those chips into the main pot.

The betting continues and if a large bet causes any other players with cards to fold, then that bettor wins the side pot. If several contenders remain for the side pot, then once the betting is finished, those eligible for the side pot show their hands and the best hand wins the side pot.

Then the all-in player, who is eligible for the main pot, reveals. If the all-in beats the side pot winner’s cards, then the all-in gets the main pot. If the side pot winner has a better hand, that player gets all the chips and the small stack is eliminated. Keep this in mind when you play poker online.

Kentucky Poker Law

Filed under: Casino Stuff, Fun For All, Gaming Hall — admin @ 10:44 am

Great news has emerged from the U.S. state of Kentucky for poker online players everywhere! The Kentucky Court of Appeals issued a ruling last week prohibiting the Franklin Circuit Court from enforcing its seizure order against the 141 domain names of internet casino and poker sites that were seized illegally by the state of Kentucky. In case you haven’t followed this story Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear seized 141 internet gambling domains, including those belonging to several major online poker rooms. The Court found that Internet domain names are not a “gambling device” under Kentucky law and that the Franklin County Circuit Court’s ruling that these domain names constituted gambling devices that were subject to forfeiture was erroneous. I have been following this case for a while and this is great news. If the state of Kentucky basically said since online poker is illegal in that state, they could seize the domain names of any online poker site, no matter where it is based, and shut it down. This is, of course, illegal and if upheld would have allowed basically any government anywhere that doesn’t allow online poker to try and shut down any online poker site as long as anyone who lives in their jurisdiction was using it! This would have been preposterous and disastrous, and this is a victory for online poker players everywhere.

A wise bowling wizard once said: the bowling balls do all the work (after you roll them). I kid. I admit, bowling is a simple game with not-so simple details. No worry, we’ll have you throwing with the proper steps to bowling greatness.

First, buy your own custom fit a personalized bowling ball, which will do wonders! You’ll notice a difference with your own stuff. Of course another critical matter is having actual bowling shoes which have shoe laces!

Now that you may have previous acquired the right bowling ball and shoes, listen to the second best bowling tip: aiming the ball. If you wait to roll, don’t shoot for your actual target, the pins. Use the arrows like a sight on a firearm. Why, you ask? It is easier to roll through a an aid marker that rests nearer. For it to work right, include it as part of your routine to line-up at the precise location on the floor on every attempt. Only then you can make small adjustements on your aim using the arrows in the lane.

What about curves, to achieve ball handling and velocity? Indeed, this is our next best piece of bowling advice. It’s all in the pricy reactive ball. A lot of professional bowlers pack several types of bowling balls to pull off aggressive pin action, selected precisely for the type of game and lane. But intermediates should keep it simple, and steer clear of a ball that weighs a ton. A lot of avid bowlers invest heavily in bowling balls made for extra materials. Avoid the temptation, because these balls can make even decent talents look like beginners. With these tips you’re on the right track. Rest assured you’ll find in the August edition.

Cooking Methods: Baking, Barbequing, and Frying

Filed under: Content Is King, Fine Fare, Fun For All — admin @ 1:50 pm

Baking refers to the method of cooking food by use of dry heat in an oven. Almost any foodstuff can be baked — vegetables, chicken, fish, and meat. This cooking method produces a wide array of flavorful food such as breads, pastries, pizza, cakes and other dishes. Not only does baking produce tasty products, but it is also actually a very healthy way of cooking food especially if you want to get rid of unwanted fat. The technique to achieving a perfectly baked product depends on the proper ratio between the temperature of the oven and the baking time. The larger and denser the product is, the longer baking time needed.

Barbequing is another way of cooking food and involves grilling or broiling meat, chicken, or fish over an open direct fire. With this method of cooking, you let unwanted oils and fat drip off. Before grilling your meat, the grill should be sprayed with a non-stick spray so as not to let the meat stick to it. The grill should also be properly heated before cooking the food on the grill. Grilling can be done on a gas grill or on a charcoal grill. To be careful not to burn the meat though as studies have shown that burnt or charred food contains carcinogens.

Frying refers to cooking food on a pan over heat with the use of fat, oil, or butter. Frying cooks food more rapidly, and the food basically absorbs the oil to different extents depending on the kind of food cooked. There are different frying techniques including stir-frying, pan-frying, deep-frying, shallow frying, and sautéing. These techniques differ in a number of ways such as the cooking time, the manipulation of the food, the quantity of fat needed, and the kind of cooking equipment needed.

Frying is generally the least healthy of cooking methods since the food tends to absorb harmful fats.
